ABOUT STORY SYSTEMS LAB

Story Systems Lab is an interdisciplinary initiative dedicated to understanding how storytelling is changing in an era of artificial intelligence.

We believe that stories are among humanity's oldest and most powerful technologies. Today, emerging forms of computation are transforming how stories are created, circulated, and trusted, challenging longstanding ideas about authorship, memory, and truth.

Through artistic research, collaborative inquiry, and public programming, Story Systems Lab explores these transformations while fostering new forms of media and digital literacy. Our work invites participants to think critically about the stories that shape our lives and to experiment with new ways of creating meaning together.

Story Systems Lab brings together artists, educators, scientists, writers, and other story-curious participants to investigate the evolving relationship between human imagination, technology, and collective understanding.

Founded by artist and researcher Kris Davidson, Story Systems Lab serves as both a public initiative and an ongoing research platform that informs and extends her artistic practice.
